Our new candidate for Moortown Ward

We are proud to announce that local community activist, Laura Jane Fisher, has been selected as our Moortown Ward candidate for the 2026 Leeds City Council elections.


Laura Jane said:

"I'm standing as the Labour Party candidate because I care deeply about our community. This is where I live, work, and connect with others, and I want to make sure that it continues to thrive."

Moortown Councillors Mohammed Shahzad and Sharon Hamilton said:

"Laura-Jane has a strong track record of working with local residents, supporting neighbourhood initiatives, and championing the issues that matter most to our communities. Her passion for public service, community safety, and bringing people together reflects the values we work to deliver every day. We’re proud to be working alongside Laura-Jane as part of a team committed to listening to residents, strengthening our neighbourhoods, and making Moortown & Meanwood an even better place to live."

Local MP, Fabian Hamilton, said:
