Standing water on Stainbeck Road

Moortown Ward Councillors Sharon Hamilton and Mohammed Shahzad have an update for local residents on recent standing water issues on Stainbeck Road:

We know many residents and centre users have been concerned about the standing water in the Stainbeck Road parking lay-by and the impact this is having on safe access, particularly for elderly and disabled visitors.
We have formally escalated this with the Council’s Highways service and asked for an urgent inspection, drain clearance, and confirmation of what longer-term fix may be needed. We’ve made clear the importance of this location for funerals, community activities and regular drop-offs, and are pressing for this to be treated as a priority.
We are awaiting the service response and will update residents as soon as we receive a confirmed action date.
Thank you to everyone who has flagged this with us — please continue reporting any issues you see so we can keep pushing for a resolution.
